Happy 95th Birthday Grandma

This past Saturday, my family and I celebrated my Grandma Norris' 95th Birthday.
This was the first time EVER for me to celebrate her birthday with her.
Grandma, Darin (brother), Me and DeAnn (sister)
My Grandma and I have many things in common.
They are:
1. Her son is my Dad
2.We have the same initials "LAN"
3. We share the same middle name and last name
What we don't have in common is that she has money $$, lots of money.
I of course do not have lots of money. I could if I would just learn to say "NO" to my nephews and nieces. I need to learn to say no more often. But I am the Aunt and it's my job to spoil them.
HaPpY BiRtHdAy GRANDMA!

Home

This is where I live, sleep & eat. (i also pay rent)
I've called this house home since July 2004.
Living in Arizona is ALOT different then living in BEAUTIFUL southern California.
I miss the "OC".
Notice the "desert" landscape of the front yard. This is typical for Arizona.
It's low maintenance-but I prefer "green" grass, bushes, trees.., etc.Look, grass and it's green. Lucky for me this grass is green all year long.
This grass will never turn brown in the winter like everyone else's.

Living in the desert during the summer gets really hot. Most people have swimming pools. But not my parents. They have a pond. Yep, a pond. They spent $5,000.00 on this pond. I would have chosen a pool instead of a pond, but lucky for me, my sister lives 2 miles down the road and she has a "pool". That's where you can find me during the hot summer months.

My mother's cactus garden. I don't like cactus. I think they are ugly. And not only that but they hurt. I've been pricked one too many times. I would love to pull them out and replace them with bushes and flowers.

So, that's where I live. Feel free to come visit. If you come in the summer, bring you swim suit. If you come in the winter bring you gloves and jacket. It gets really cold in the winter. Two weeks ago I was scrapping ice off my car windows.

PS: I should mention that the grass never needs water either. Why? It's FAKE. Yep, the grass is fake and came with a life time warranty.

My New Job

Back in October of 2006, I started a new job (finally outside the medical field).
With the help of my "favorite" brother-in-law, I got a new job in which I love!
OK, it's the money that I love!!I work for "LeBaron & Carroll". I'm an Account Manager to a commercial insurance agent.

We serve all businesses in & out of Arizona. I'm in the process of getting my Insurance License to become an Agent.

This is where I work. It's nothing to brag about, but it's not the main office-no office gossip here. It's just my boss, Dave. His Dad and myself here. We like the freedom we have to come and go as we like. (This house is about 45 years old. In the kitchen, we have a ping-pong table. No, we do not eat off the ping-pong table. Every once in awhile we'll play a game or two)

My office. It's not usually this messing. I have a slight case of "OCD" so everything has its place, expect for this day as I had several new accounts I was working on.

These horses are just outside my office window. I get the pleasure of looking at these horses everyday. I was told that I could ride them but after they knocked against the outside wall and licked my window, I was a little scared so I'll pass on that ride. I never realized that horses have BIG teeth.

7 Random Facts About Me

1. I have a slight case of OCD "obsessive compulsive disorder".
I say slight because I no longer fold my "dirty" laundry.
2. I have a 13' metal Harrington Rod bolted down my spine.

3. I wore a plaster body cast for: 9 months, 1 day, 14 hours, 48 mins & 22 seconds
Yes, I counted and trust me you would've too.

4. I decorate cakes. It's only a hobby. (don't ask for one because you'll never get one)

5. I love to eat dry cereal out of the box.
In fact I never eat cereal with milk. I'm not a milk drinker.
All time favorite cereal has to be Honeycombs.

6. I collect Hot wheels. Last count was a 250.

7. I'm a people watcher. I could sit at the Mall all day and just watch people come & go. I also like to make fun of them. OK, it's not nice. But if you are just going to sit and watch people you might as well make fun of them. I know what you are thinking, I don't do it so they can see me. Come on like none of you have ever done that. Please!!
