Happy Birthday Hunter

Today is Hunter's 7th Birthday.
He would not let me take a current picture of him without paying him first. Never mind I spent way to much on his gift.
So this is a picture I did have to pay him for back when he lost his front teeth.
Here is a picture I took at Christmas 2008. He was not happy that I took this one without paying him. Hunter is my little man who is going on 16. He makes me laugh.
Congrats Hunter for finally learning how to swim.
And when are you going to let me win at wii without having to pay you?
This kid is all about money. No wonder his favorite colour is Green.

Happy 7th Birthday Hunter!!
Ninnie loves you!!!

Goodbye Elder Rodriguez

This morning Elder Jordan Rodriguez left for the Sao Paulo, Brazil Missionary Training Centre. Jordan will spend 2 months in the MTC learning the Portuguese language and missionary lessons. He flew out of the SkyHarbour Airport in Phoenix, Arizona with a lay over in Dallas, Texas.
My sister set up a blog for Jordan so that friends and family members could read his emails and see photo's that are taken of and by him for the next 2 years.

I am so proud of my 2 nephews, Jordan & Bradyn who love the Lord and want others to know of him and the plan of salvation. Return with honor my missionary nephew. I love ya!!

1920 - 2009

My grandmother, Lois Ardell Mitchell-Norris passed away on tuesday, May 12th. She lived to be 96 years old. On friday, May 15th, my sister DeAnn and myself were able to preform one last act of service to our grandmother. We helped to dress her for her burial. It was an awesome experience that I'll never forget. My Uncle, Robin shared some stories of our grandmother. I learned some new things about her that I didn't know before. I now know where I got my basketball skills from. My cousin Sharon and her husband sang a song called "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing". My cousin has a beautiful singing voice. Visit her website here.
(Brother Darin, Cousin Sharon, Sisters DeAnn & Shana, Myself and brother Scott)
The last time we saw our cousin was in 1980. It was good to see her again and play catch up.
My 2 brothers, Scott and Darin, brother-in-law John and 3 nephews Jordan, Ivan and Bradyn carried the casket.

My grandmother may be gone, but she'll never be forgotten.
Love you Grandma

Finally..

A friend told me I need to put a picture of me on my blog. If you really, really know me, you know that I don't like my picture being taken. So after much thought, I decided why not put a picture of me on my blog. So here I am.
Ok, so it's a really old picture of me. But it at least it's a picture.
I'm not sure how old I am here, maybe 3 or 4??
I have to say "I'm kinda cute in this photo".

Before and After

I came across this picture of Bradyn and Jordan. Aren't they cute? I love that they are wearing the same outfits. They are about 5 months apart in age. Then 19 years later here they are again. This picture was taken earlier this month when Bradyn was ordained an Elder.

These 2 nephews will be leaving soon for their missions.
We'll have to wait 2 years to see how much or if they change at all.
They haven't even left and I miss them already.

I just noticed that in the first photo that Jordan has his arm around Bradyn. And in the second photo Bradyn has his arm around Jordan.
Oh, 2 cousin that love each other.
It's that sweet?

Missing My Two Front Teeth

My cute nephew, Hunter lost his 2 front teeth.
I asked him how much money he got from the tooth fairy.
He said "the tooth fairy wasn't able to leave alot of money because of the economy".
He also said that "the economy better get better fast because I have more loose teeth and could use the money".

He's saving to buy a remote helicopter.
Good luck with that Hunter.

I'll go where you want me to go

My nephew Bradyn Norris is waiting for his mission call. Should come this week. Tonight the entire family, well those that live in Arizona, got together for a BBQ and to make our picks for where we think Bradyn will be called to serve his two year mission.

For each pick that you make it cost $1.00. (or you can give more) I made three picks. Taiwan, Tahiti and Costa Rica. These were not my top picks. My sister-in-law is the oldest of 9 children, so after her family made their choices and my mother making 20 picks, then my sisters, there really was not much left to choose from. I guess that's what I get for being up stairs playing with my nephew and nieces.

It was a fun night. Looking at the map and seeing all the possibles for where Bradyn could be called to serve. I did mention to Bradyn that the greatest mission ever is still the New Zealand Christchurch Mission (now called the Wellington Mission).

Bradyn said that he'll be happy where ever he is called to serve. I'm hoping he goes to one of my picks so I can get bragging rights.

New Photo's of Ruby

Here's some new photo's of Little Baby Ruby.
At first I thought Ruby looked like her mom. But not so much anymore.

She definitely looks like her Daddy.

This one is my favorite.

I wish that Ruby lived closer.
Why people live in Idaho, I'll never understand.

I'll post more photo's as they come in.

Called To Serve

My nephew, Jordan Mitchell Rodriguez
has been called to serve a LDS Mission in the
Brazil, Londrina Mission.
Jordan reports to the Brazilian MTC
on the 3rd of June 2009.
I am so excited for Jordan.
His is the first nephew & grandson
to serve a proselyting mission.

Side note - 2 days ago Jordan left for a holiday in California.
His call arrived today. His mom (my sister) Shanna called
him and he just couldn't wait another 7 days
to find out where he would be serving.
He told his mom to put him on speaker phone
and open his call and read it.
I was at work when all this took place, so I'm
told Jordan was excited.
And to think that we get to do this all over in another month with Bradyn.

Meet the newest member of the family...

Ruby DeAnn Lawson
Here's Grandma Bev..oops I mean Great-Grandma Bev
(I know that she just loves being a great-grandma. Can't you tell)
Here's Ruby with her Great-Great Aunt Joan.
My Aunt and Uncle are snow-birds from Idaho
cousin Ivan
(Indian name: Little man with a big-head)

and finally Ruby's Aunt Sophia and cousin Jordan

It was fun having Jessica and her husband, Chris visiting for a few weeks from Idaho.
I enjoyed getting to meet Ruby. I'm looking forward to spoiling her.
My sister, DeAnn and her family left today for Idaho for Ruby's blessing on Sunday.
My entire family is so bless to have this sweet little spirit in our lives.

I have no pictures of myself with Little baby Ruby.
If you know me I don't like getting my picture taken.

My New TV

So, I finally found something to spend my Christmas bonus on.

(#1 Duke vs #4 Wake Forest College Basketball Game. Wake Forest won 70 to 68)

Check out my new 37' HD Flat screen Vizio television. I wanted to go bigger but it wasn't in the budget (oh I hate that word..budget). Ivan sure was happy to get my old 26' flat screen tv. I also upgraded my dvr to a HD dvr. Now I just need to hook up my surround sound and I'll be set.

Shout Out to Jessica

Happy Birthday..Jessica
(This picture was taken on her wedding day 19-October-2007)
Today is Jessica's 22nd Birthday. In order of my nieces, she is number 1.
With Jessica living in Idaho I don't get to see her very often.
I miss my Little baby Jessica!!
Happy Birthday!!
