Graduation

This year I have 2 nephews and 1 niece graduating in the class of 2008.
This is my fourth nephew. Meet Bradyn James Norris. (Indian name: Little man who walks tall) He will graduate on Wednesday, May 21st from Desert Ridge High School home of the Jaguar, here in Mesa, Arizona. He is very excited and looking forward to the future.
He was accepted to ASU "Arizona State University". But decided to attend one year at "Chandler/Gilbert Community College" before he serves a mission.
He received 2 Scholarship Awards. The President's Scholarship from Chandler/Gilbert Community College and The Will Smith Memorial Scholarship. Below is a picture of him with Will Smith's mother. Will Smith attended Desert Ridge High School and graduated in 2005. He died along with another student, Joe Onisko. I'm very proud of my nephew. He is a really good kid. He loves his family, friends and has a very strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Seems just like yesterday, that Bradyn would dance around my room to Rod Stewart, in his diaper and sing to Billy Ray Cyrus, Neil Diamond and Queen. As his Aunt (his favorite Aunt) I couldn't be more proud of him. Love ya Bradyn!!

Madisen's Baptism Day

This past saturday was Madisen's (my niece) baptism. Her older brother, Bradyn was able to baptize her. Her brothers and sisters were excited that she had made the decision to be baptize and become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I, being her favorite Aunt was happy to share this day with her. All of her family and some of her Aunts, Uncles & Cousins were there to share this special day with her.

My brother the Sheriff

My family has always had some kind of involvement in Law Enforcement. My grandfather was a police officer in the city of Phoenix, AZ. My dad worked in the dept of Criminal Justice for the state of California. My youngest sister is in the process of getting her degree in Criminal Justice. So, when my brother Darin decided to become a sheriff we were all very excited for him. My dad was able to pin his badge to his uniform on graduation day. Darin has been assigned to work in the city of Queen Creek. Congratulation to Darin and his family.

It's Official....

I'm the new proud owner of a pair of "BIFOCALS'.
Yep, who would have thought that at such a young age - which I am "young", that I would need bifocals......apparently Dr. Lars Carlson did!! To which, I replied with 1. what optometry school did you attend? 2. how good are your math skills? and 3. tell me you were in the top 10 of your graduating class? - Really I'm OK with the change, change is good. (I'm holding out for the "Resurrection" when I'll have 20/20 vision) I was disappointed that I am NOT a candidate for contacts, guess I'll continue with my Lasik Surgery Savings Fund. I've only been wearing my bifocals for 18 hours, so far so good.
PS: I wonder if I can get Sport Sunglasses in a bifocal for my bike rides?...hmm, note to self call Dr. Carlson.

"Seventy"

In America, April 15th means only one thing..."Tax Day"
April 15th, in New Zealand, (my mum's homeland) was the day she was
brought into this world.
This year my mum celebrated her "_ _ " Birthday!
She doesn't want me to tell anyone how old she is, so i won't.
I'll just let the photo's speak for themselves.

Some of her children, Ok, 2 of her favorite children & myself, along with
9 of her grandchildren, 1 son-in-law & 1 daughter-in-law celebrated
her special day together.
